Graham Reed Fine Art has dated this Tom Clough Whitby Watercolour to the 1900s.
He moved in 1884 to live in Glan Conway in North Wales where he painted many of his best known works which were exhibited at the leading galleries ,including 14 paintings at the Royal Academy and at the Royal Cambrian Academy where he exhibited 116 paintings.He also painted on Cornwall Devon,Northern France and Italy. ‘ Whitby Harbour,Yorkshire ‘ signed watercolour,image size 35x49cms ,framed size 56x71 cms.Housed in its original decorative gilt frame.In good overall condition with good colours;some minor foxing but not detracting from the overall image.Label to verso ‘Whitby Harbour’ probably in artists hand.
