A magnificent Victorian mahogany extending dining table of exceptional quality featuring ball and claw feet and superior carved details throughout. Ball and claw feet on all four legs - finely carved traditional eagle talon motif requiring considerable skill and expense. Reserved for superior quality furniture. Deeply carved acanthus leaf brackets at top of each leg. Continuous gadrooned (rope-twist) molding hand-carved around entire top edge circumference. This level of carved decoration is characteristic of high-quality Victorian furniture for wealthy households.
