Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Lowestoft porcelain was manufactured in Suffolk, England, between 1757 and 1802. The factory produced soft-paste porcelain tableware, tea wares, and decorative pieces, frequently decorated with Chinese-inspired patterns or native floral and wildlife designs.

These jugs were formed from soft-paste porcelain compositions containing bone ash and clay, glazed, and painted using underglaze cobalt blue along with overglaze polychrome enamel pigments.

Authentic Lowestoft soft-paste porcelain often displays a slightly bluish or greenish tint in the glaze where it pools around the foot rim, along with characteristic hand-painted decoration and period wear patterns on the base.

A sparrow-beak porcelain jug can be displayed individually on a sideboard, arranged inside a glass-fronted cabinet, or placed on a mantlepiece alongside complementary period glassware and ceramics.

Soft-paste porcelain should be dusted gently with a soft brush or washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent. Abrasive cleaners, hot water, and dishwashers must be avoided to protect overglaze enamel decoration.
