Superb Leather Topped Writing Desk - Triple Drawer - c1920
The table offers great versatility to be used as a desk, bureau, library table, entrance hall or study piece.
The desk is presented in good order. The piece has cross-grained veneering throughout and the overall look created is hugely stylish.
The desk rides upon elegantly tapered cabriole legs which are detailed in mounted fine gilt metal.
The desk benefits from three full depth drawers, each of which displays wonderful crossbanding and fine gilt metal surround and handles to the front. On the opposite side to the drawers the table is correctly finished to allow the piece to be centered in a room and not just placed against a wall.
The upper surface has a gorgeous original leather skiver insert which is beautifully tooled and displays age in a very desirable fashion.
Overall this piece of furniture is in very good condition. The desk is well constructed and very solid. The mahogany displays very well.
