Antique Early Metalware 18thc Brass "Uprights" Ball & Claw Andirons. English C1740-50

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

I haven''t had such a lovely pair of ''andirons'' for a long time.....this fine pair came to me from a private collection and were made around 1740-50 ....they have brass uprights in the form of cabriole legs with ball & claw feet topped off with ''urn'' finials....they still have the original iron bar supports, which would have been too short to support logs, so it probably would have had a shallow wrought iron basket...very nice quality and in good condition considering all the domestic use they would have had.

English C1740-50.
