The magnificent circular top is veneered in beautifully figured rosewood, displaying dramatic grain patterns and rich tonal variation that create a striking visual centrepiece.
The table is raised on a substantial turned central column, standing on elegant carved scroll feet. Of particular note is the contrasting bird’s eye maple block positioned beneath the top on the column — a premium timber detail rarely found on standard pieces. The use of bird’s eye maple not only enhances the aesthetic contrast but is also a clear indicator of superior cabinetmaking quality and expense at the time of manufacture.
The generous 134cm diameter comfortably accommodates six diners or more, making it ideal as a dining table or statement centre table. With its superb colour, outstanding figuring, and quality construction, this is a distinguished example of early 19thc. rosewood furniture.
