Antique Silver-capped Travelling Medicine Bottle

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

This is a high quality item: a glass travelling medicine bottle with a solid sterling silver cap.

The silver is hallmarked on the front of the cap for Sheffield 1909 with the maker''s mark of James Dixon & Sons Ltd. The hinged top needs a turn to open. It is lined with cork and carries two extra hallmarks. The flattened bottle is impressed with a horizontal line, separating 1 and 2 Table Spoons measures. Understandably, it has a slight wobble when standing.
