This is unusual - a solid sterling silver novelty pin cushion, fashioned as a goblet or chalice.
It is hallmarked on the side of the main body for Birmingham, possibly 1919, although the date mark is somewhat rubbed. The maker''s mark is for E J Houlston Ltd.
It looks to be the original cushion, slightly faded around the edges. It stands well on a quality leather base and has a few small dings around the body, but nothing more than one would expect from an item of this age.
