Mid C19th mahogany ‘country-house’ luggage stand of deep proportions with a raised and raked rear upstand support.
The broad rectangular platform with slatted lateral luggage supports and raised on elegantly turned forelegs . The rear raked upstand with gently chamfered edges and subtle Gothic design influenced uprights, having two chamfered edge lateral bars . The rear square-section supports with a raked angle providing good stability and strength.
In excellent original condition with no damage or repairs , having a rich colour and patina to the original polished surface.
A practical piece of classic country-house mahogany furniture of good scale and proportions , being of the rarer form of luggage rack having a raised rear support.
