Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Mary Gregory glass refers to late 19th-century painted glassware featuring stylized white enamel figures, usually depicting children in natural landscapes. Highly popular during the Victorian era, the style originated in Bohemian glassworks and was widely exported across Western Europe and North America.

Cranberry glass was produced by adding gold chloride or liquid gold to molten clear glass, creating a rich ruby-red hue upon reheating. The vessel was then blown, shaped with handles or rims, and hand-decorated with white enamel paint fired onto the glass surface.

Authentic pieces feature raised white enamel painting with visible brushstrokes and layering to create depth, rather than modern screen-printed designs. The glass body should show period production characteristics, such as pontil marks on the base and appropriate age-related wear to gilded accents.

Position red coloured glass where natural light can pass through, such as on a window sill, mantelpiece, or glass display shelf. Combining rich Victorian glass with neutral backdrops or minimalist decor allows the vivid colouration and detailed enamel work to serve as a focal point.

Clean painted antique glass gently using lukewarm water and a mild detergent applied with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges, harsh chemical cleaners, or submersion in hot water, as these can erode gilded accents and delicate enamel paint.
