Description

An attractive 19th century oak and mahogany chest of drawers of good proportions and pleasing colour. The chest is fitted with three drawers over four long graduated drawers, each with brass swan neck handles. The piece has a single plank top above decorative inlay above a shaped frieze adding decorative detail and interest. The drawers are framed by decorative pilasters and raised on a shaped apron base. A well made and practice piece of 19th century furniture.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition with signs of age. The piece shows surface scratches, staining and minor age-related shrinkage and splitting. There are historic repairs evident, along with minor woodworm to the back. However, this is long gone and has been treated as a precaution. Overall, solid and sound with all drawers running smoothly. A lovely example.
