The basket top backed in red silk as is the sound fret, the finials are detailed with acanthus base and flame tops .
The 6 1/2''square brass dial with silvered chapter ring is centered with a mock pendulum aperture ,with a calender aperture at 6 oclock with a pin slot for easy date adjustment finely worked blued steel hands. the movement constructed with five robust and finely turned
knopped pillars and powered by a single gut fusee driving a verge escapement repeating
the hour and quarters on a pair of bells.
The backplate finely engraved with scrollwork,birds , a basket of fruit and foiage centered with Joseph Windmills signature London. he succeeded
Thomas Tompion in maintaining the clocks at the Tower of London.He was made free of the clockmakers company in 1671
