English porcelain cup and saucer from the Flight, Barr & Barr period, produced at the Worcester Porcelain Manufactory between 1813 and 1840. The sixteen-sided fluted form with concave scalloped walls is decorated in the renowned Dragon in Compartments pattern, featuring a dragon and kylin in alternating lobed panels with reserves of vases and precious objects. Executed in vibrant famille-verte enamels with restrained gilding to rims and handle. Introduced at Worcester in the late 1760s, this pattern became one of the factory’s most prestigious and long-established decorative designs, continuing through the Regency era when Worcester porcelain reached exceptional technical and artistic standards.The bases bear the impressed crowned FBB mark and retain a collector’s label from The Flight Collection, formed by Lord Howard Emerson Flight, descendant of the original Worcester proprietors.
