Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Nouveau picture frames from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries feature organic motifs such as trailing vines, ivy leaves, and sinuous curves. Crafted frequently in brass, bronze, or pewter, these designs emphasize stylised natural forms and continuous flowing lines.

Frames from this period were commonly manufactured using cast or pressed brass sheet metal, decorated with stippled or hand-hammered textures to create depth. The reverse typically includes metal easel supports held by hinges or retaining tabs to hold glass and photos securely.

Authentic period frames feature age-appropriate construction, such as stamped or cast details, period easel backing mechanisms, and natural oxidisation or patina within recessed areas. Maker marks, registration numbers, or foundry stamps may also be present on the back.

These metallic accent pieces can be positioned on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or desk to add historical texture and warm metal tones. They function effectively alongside modern minimalism or layered within eclectic table displays.

Dust the surface periodically using a dry, soft cloth to remove debris from intricate relief work. Avoid using harsh chemical polishes or abrasive pads, as these can strip original protective lacquers and alter the historical patina.
