Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Tudor Revival furniture, which gained popularity during the early 20th century, draws structural and decorative inspiration from 16th-century English Renaissance design. Common features include dark oak timber, carved lunettes, diamond lozenge motifs, and heavy architectural mouldings.

Elizabethan style bookcases were crafted predominantly from native English oak due to its strength and dense grain. Construction relied on traditional mortise and tenon joinery, panelled cabinet bases, and carved decorative trim.

Pieces produced in the 1930s replicate 16th-century motifs while utilizing early 20th-century woodworking machinery. Look for clean interior saw marks, standardized metal hinges or door catches, uniform cabinet depth, and a subtle aged patina.

A carved dark oak bookcase adds textural contrast when placed against light walls or minimalist plaster finishes. Grouping contemporary art ceramics alongside vintage hardback books balances historic woodwork with contemporary aesthetics.

Regular dusting with a dry microfiber cloth maintains the surface finish without scratching the wood. Applying a natural beeswax polish twice a year prevents the timber from drying out while keeping the wood protected from moisture.
