Miles Griffiths Antiques Ltd has dated this Cotswold School Dressing Chest to the 1930s.
Beautifully made in solid sycamore and walnut, this English 1930’s Cotswold School dressing chest / table is superbly made, most probably by Gordon Russell and comes with the matching walnut stool that has a drop in upholstered seat, this is a design by Edward Barnsley by Gordon Russell.
Behind the two doors in the central cabinet are two lovely small inlaid drawers with a storage compartment above. Stands on stepped sledge style feet and is complete with the original large mirror that has a lovely cut in design around the edge. In superb condition throughout, a high quality design and most probably a one off, special order by Gordon Russell in the early thirties.
