Staffordshire Pearlware Banded Mug, C. 1830.

Description

Staffordshire Potteries pearlware banded mug, c. 1830. The large mug, engined turned with a band of blue and white chequered motif, in slight relief, between two solid bands of blue.

Set upon a pedestal foot, and having a simple strap handle, with foliate terminals.

All beneath a pearlware glaze.

Height – 9.8 cm, 3 7/8”.

Width (Handle to rim) – 13 cm, 5 1/8”.

Diameter – 10.2 cm, 4”.

Condition – Typical age related wear to the glaze. No damage. No restoration. Please see images for detail.
