ANTIQUE #SA1195836

George III Mahogany Side Table / Dressing Table

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Hingstons of Wilton

• George III Mahogany Side Table / Dressing Table — Thomas Chippendale influence, original brassware

• Elegant late-18th century mahogany side/dressing table finished to a warm, mellow patina. This compact and versatile piece has been crafted from selected timber throughout and retains pleasing period character — ideal as a dressing table, bedside table or refined occasional table in a bedroom or hallway.

• The top is a single-piece timber selected for its interesting grain and figure, giving the surface exceptional visual depth. The case houses two well-proportioned drawers fitted with original brassware, while the legs are chamfered square in section — the classical form associated with mid-18th century English design — rising to subtle shaped brackets at the top of each leg, a delicate and well-executed detail. Overall proportions are neat and practical, with crisp moulding to the top edge and excellent colour developed with age.
