A distinguished Regency armchair by the esteemed makers W. Williamson & Sons of Guildford, dating to the early 19th century.
The solid oak frame has matured to a beautiful mellow honey tone and is complemented by newly upholstered, rich black leather of excellent quality, providing both comfort and durability while enhancing the chair’s elegant lines.
The shaped and upholstered back, arms and seat offer generous support, and the chair stands on refined fluted front legs terminating in castors, with plain rear sabre legs true to the Regency period.
Well-proportioned and sturdy.
The maker’s stamp is present beneath the chair: W. Williamson & Sons, Guildford. The firm, active circa 1790–1840 in Surrey, was highly regarded for its craftsmanship, producing furniture in the late George III and Regency taste.
Pieces bearing their mark are increasingly sought after.
This armchair is presented in excellent condition and ready for use.
