Shackladys Antiques has dated this French Caned Oak Armchair to the 1900s.
The shaped arms descend in a continuous sweep to join the seat rail, reinforcing the chair’s fluid, sculptural profile.

The apron is deeply carved with floral and foliate motifs centered by a stylized blossom, echoed by carved decoration to the knees and lower legs. The cabriole legs terminate in subtly scrolled feet, lending lightness and movement to the form. The oak surface retains a warm, medium-to-dark brown finish with attractive age patina and visible grain.

The seat is fitted with a removable, shaped cushion upholstered in tan leather (or leatherette), button-tufted and tailored to the frame; the original caned seat remains intact beneath.
