Description

A historically important WW2 period RAF officers mess clock. An architectural pediment to the oak case. The original back door lock, key and winding key. An engraved silvered dial with the RAF laurel emblem and blued steel hands. Convex glass to the case brass bezel with the original latch and push button side release.

An 8-day duration precision English fusee mechanism no. 4896 by F.W. Elliott in 1938.

F.W. Elliott Ltd, based in Croydon, London, played a significant role in the British war effort during World War II, producing specialized clocks for the military, particularly the Royal Air Force along with aircraft parts.
