Antique Persian Mir Seraband Rug

A genuine late 19th-century Mir Seraband rug from West Persia, handwoven with a wool pile on cotton foundations. The field is decorated with the classic all-over boteh motif, framed by shaped spandrels and enclosed within traditional repeating borders — a timeless Seraband design that has softened beautifully with age.

This is a well-loved antique rug with heavy, even wear throughout, resulting in a mellow, timeworn surface and a subtle, tapestry-like appearance. The original palette has faded gently, giving the piece a subdued, characterful look that works particularly well in relaxed interiors where patina and authenticity are valued over crisp definition.
