Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Nouveau silverware emerged during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, particularly between 1890 and 1910. The style focused on organic, flowing lines, natural motifs, and stylized asymmetrical forms, moving away from rigid Victorian historical revival styles.

Art Nouveau tableware was frequently produced using sterling silver or silver electroplated on base metals such as Britannia metal or nickel silver. Electroplating allowed complex, flowing decorative designs to be manufactured for broader commercial distribution.

Authentic pieces feature characteristic design hallmarks such as whiplash curves, plant or floral motifs, and sinuous handles integrated directly into the body. Inspection of makers marks or EPNS stamps near the base also helps establish origin and manufacturing period.

A silver-plated bonbon dish functions well as a decorative focal point on a sideboard top, coffee table, or hallway console. It can be displayed empty to showcase its sculptural form or used to hold small items.

Silver-plated items should be cleaned gently using a soft cloth and a specialised silver polish formulated for electroplated metal. Abrasive cleaners and dishwashers must be avoided to prevent stripping the thin silver layer from the base metal.
