A particularly decorative Victorian upholstered ebonised chair of low form with a strong architectural presence and showing clear Aesthetic Movement influence through its ebonised finish, faceted uprights and gilt architectural detailing.The distinctively shaped arched back is framed by faceted column uprights with gilt capitals, above a deep upholstered seat raised on turned legs with castors, the base finished with a turned spindle under-rail.Very good antique condition with some surface wear to the ebonised finish consistent with age.
