19th Century Decorated Eastern Lacquered Bowl and Cover
A highly decorative nineteenth-century Eastern lacquered bowl and cover, beautifully enriched with inlaid and sgraffito decoration covering the entire body and lid. The craftsmanship is enhanced by a rich red lacquered interior, creating a striking contrast with the exterior decoration.
The cover is finished with a carved bone finial and fits very tightly, indicating good quality construction. The bowl stands on a pedestal foot, giving the piece added presence and elegance.
Condition:
There are minor losses around the rim and in places, consistent with age and use, but these do not detract from the overall decorative appeal.
