Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Introduced widely in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, silver mustard pots were created to contain prepared wet mustard on formal dining tables, frequently incorporating glass liners to shield the interior metal from corrosive ingredients.

Victorian examples were crafted from sterling silver featuring standard purity marks, manufactured using techniques such as casting, hand-embossing, chasing, fluting, and fitting with fitted covers and scroll handles.

Authentic British pieces carry a complete set of official hallmarks: a town mark indicating the assay office, a lion passant for sterling quality, a specific date letter, a makers mark, and occasionally a monarchs duty head.

Small silver dining accessories can be incorporated into modern settings as functional condiment servers during formal meals or arranged as part of a curated silver hollowware collection on a sideboard or bar cart.

Silver should be wiped with a soft, non-abrasive silver cloth or treated with dedicated silver polish, washed gently in warm water with mild soap, and thoroughly dried to prevent tarnish and oxidisation.
