Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the 1920s, Venetian glassmakers on the island of Murano, including firms such as CVM (Compagnia Venezia Murano) and Pauly & Co., embraced Art Deco influences. Artisans combined traditional Muranese techniques like latticinio filigree with simplified, modern forms tailored to modern domestic barware.

These vessels are hand-blown from soda-lime glass, coloured using metal oxides such as iron or manganese to produce amber tones. Details like latticinio bands involve embedding opaque white or dark glass threads into the clear hot glass matrix before final shaping.

Authentic pieces feature a snapped or polished pontil scar on the base, a hand-ground glass stopper custom-fitted to the neck, and slight asymmetrical variations characteristic of free-blown glass rather than moulded production.

Display the piece on a sideboard top, drinks trolley, or deep window sill where natural sunlight can highlight the translucency of the amber glass and the fine details of the decorative neck band.

Wash gently by hand using tepid water and mild dishwashing liquid, avoiding harsh chemical detergents or abrasive sponges. Ensure the interior dries completely before reinserting the stopper to prevent moisture trapping and surface clouding.
