Description

A stunning example of an early nineteenth century Chinese tea caddy dating to around 1820 with lavish gilded decoration of various scenes and standing on four carved figural feet in the form of mythical beasts.

The two Paktong cannisters are beautifully decorated. The lids are removed to reveal an inner lid with Ivory knobs.

An exceptional example without damage to carved feet; the gilding in exquisite condition. 10 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 6 1/2" tall.
