The circular top is made from a single, unbroken board, a true mark of quality, allowing the rich grain and warm, lustrous colour to flow uninterrupted across the surface. The tilting action works smoothly, enabling the table to stand upright when space-saving is desired. It rests on a finely turned central column, supported by three shapely cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. A charming and practical piece of late-18th-century craftsmanship, with a beautiful surface and an understated, quietly sophisticated presence.
