Interesting mid C19th oak armchair with an architectural ‘Palladian’ style classical back .

The shaped triangular classically designed back with a moulded roundel with the tympaniium , supported on 2 classical column supports with carved doric capitals within the panelled back-rest , and having flat pilaster sides .

Raised on square forelegs with Gothic tracery style decoration, the arms having open arcaded arch sides with carving moulding details , and having a solid seat .

In good original condition with some minor losses to the mouldings .

A highly decorative armchair of stylish architectural design, possibly having been conceived for Masonic purposes.
