A highly decorative carved, painted and gilt decorated Indian octagonal low table or stand, known as a bajot, which were intended as multifunctional tables (often referred to as prayer tables). This would make a fantastic table centrepiece or low coffee table.
The top is profusely hand decorated with stylised flowers and foliage, the centre with Buddhist endless knots and calligraphy, the sides with scrolls and flowers and the supports in the form of stylised tiger heads.
Believed to be early 20th century, c.1920 made in Rajasthan, India.
Condition:
Losses to paint and some losses to carved tiger supports, as per images.
