Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the Victorian era, turquoise was associated with forget-me-not flowers and represented true love and remembrance. Rings combining turquoise cabochons with diamonds became popular gifts during the late 19th century, frequently crafted in 18ct yellow gold.

Rings from this period were predominantly crafted in 18ct yellow gold, featuring natural turquoise cut into smooth cabochons. Accent stones frequently included rose cut or mine cut diamonds set within hand-carved decorative shoulders.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-carved metalwork, period-appropriate gemstone cuts, and 18ct gold hallmarks. Natural turquoise may show subtle colour variations or minor matrix lines consistent with natural origin rather than uniform synthetic compositions.

Victorian multi-stone rings work well as focal statement pieces on the index or middle finger, or integrated into a modern gold band stack. The vibrant blue hue contrasts against neutral modern tailoring and warm-toned fabrics.

Turquoise is a porous gemstone susceptible to discolouration from water, oils, and chemical contact. Rings should be wiped gently with a soft dry cloth after wear and removed before handwashing or applying lotions.
