A fine George III Sheraton period mahogany and satinwood banded writing table, dating to circa 1790. The rectangular top is elegantly proportioned and crossbanded in satinwood, above a single drawer fitted with a green leather writing slope that rises on an easel frame.
Raised on slender tapering legs with delicate inlaid detailing, the table retains its original brass castors. To the reverse is a fixed upholstered screen panel, making this an unusual and versatile late 18th-century writing table, suitable for use as a desk or occasional table.
A refined and practical example of English Sheraton furniture, ideal for a period interior or traditional home office.
