262 X 355cm Antique Ivory Field Mahal Carpet

Description

A coveted ivory background on this late 19th century Persian carpet. Made for the Western market around 1890, with softer colours and an expanded 'Herati' pattern this was a beautiful and popular style of carpet- and still looks great today. The allover pattern allows the eye to flow across the room without snagging on a heavy medallion, and lots of accent colours to work with your soft furnishings; Light blue, green, soft pink, pale orange with the crisp ivory background warmed up by the terracotta coloured border. Showing wear but strong enough for the floor, underlay recommended.
