Description

A Rare Small Dated Oak Coffer. Having a two plank top with strap work hinges, opening to reveal a lined interior for coal/logs. the front having a lovely carved original panel "Eccleston 1700" which was probably the surname of the family who commissioned it or perhaps the name of a newly married couple that the chest was gifted to. Superb colour and patination. English circa 1700. There are some mouldings missing to the top and holes where the chest has been transported in the 18th Century.

Dimensions: 26.5" wide x 15" deep x 20.5" high
