Pair of Victorian Corinthian Column Table Lamps

1900 - 1920
Description

A pair of large brass Corinthian column table lamps dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. They have the traditional column design set on square stepped bases. They were originally oil lamps and both have their original glass oil reservoirs.

They have been converted to electric table lamps and re-wired with a braided flex and standard bayonet bulb holders. They are in good working order and have been PAT Tested for electrical safety.

They are very good quality pieces with heavy weighted bases. The base of one is engraved "Presented to the Revd D.C.Duncan by the Congregation of St Andrews Church, Burnt Yates, Feb 1906". They are not an exact matching pair and the glass fonts have slightly different cuts but they display very well together as a pair.

The lamps are in very good condition. There are some minor marks and general signs of age and use and some small dinks and dents but nothing detrimental. The brass is tarnished in places but it has been lightly cleaned and polished and displays well.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
