Rare Dutch Carved Oak Folding Chair Circa 1680

Description

Rare 17th century Dutch oak folding chair profusely carved all over with spindle turned back. Having folding carved cross frame united with shaped carved stretchers. Antique carpet fragment seat. These chairs were taken to the church where there would be few pews for seating. All in fine original condition with no breaks or repairs but missing carved motifs to each side of top. Wonderful colour with great glowing waxed patina. FRESH ON MARKET STRAIGHT FROM SCOTTISH MANSION HOUSE.

Size; 26" high, 15" wide. 19" deep. Seat height 17".
