A fine antique William IV sterling silver meat plate/serving dish by Paul Storr which is oval shape in design with a plain body, gadroon decoration around the border and resting on a flat base. This silver meat plate has been made to a very high standard, as one would expect from Paul Storr, and would be perfect to use on the table. There are some very slight knife marks on the body which are normal and in keeping with natural use over the years. There is also a crest on one side of the border which adds to the history of this desirable and collectable item. It remains in extremely good condition.The arms on the meat plate are those of Henry Preston of Moreby Hall, Yorkshire and those of his wife Anna Crompton, daughter of Joshua Crompton of Esholt Hall, Yorkshire.
