A Wrought Iron Arts and Crafts Fire Basket of Medieval Style, C 1930

This substantial handmade Arts and Crafts wrought iron fire basket is made in a simple medieval style. It is a blacksmith made piece, heavily hand constructed in ¾” x 1” rectangular bar, drilled and riveted together and hand finished at the front and back with a hammered and scrolled top bar. The base has extended bars designed to be lifted onto stone blocks or bricks, one in each corner to raise the basket for cleaning. The basket is ideal for a large open fireplace or inglenook.
