Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this Victorian Reverse Glass Silhouette Painting to the 1860s.
Each one has a complicated and highly detailed individual boarder separated with radiating patterns and stylised flower heads, all finely reverse painted in black, showing the tremendous skill of the artist.
This remarkable artwork dates to circa 1860 and is the largest of its type I have seen.

These rare silhouette paintings from this Victorian period seldom come up for sale and are often very small single views. This impressive example is in very good condition and displayed in an old Hogarth style frame, which is also in good condition.
