Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Solitaire rings from the 1920s typically feature a prominent central gemstone held in a raised claw setting, often framed by geometric or stylized metalwork along the shoulders. Design elements during this era transitioned from intricate Edwardian motifs into bolder Art Deco architectural structures.

Rings from this period were commonly crafted in 9ct, 14ct, or 18ct yellow gold, as well as platinum or white gold. Central focal stones were secured using multi-claw prongs designed to elevate the gem and maximize light passage through the facets.

Authentic pieces display period-appropriate hallmarks stamped on the interior band, along with hand-finished claw settings and classic shoulder geometries. Furthermore, authentic stones often exhibit distinct colour-shifting properties under differing light sources.

A statement solitaire ring serves as an effective accent piece when worn alone on the right hand or stacked alongside slender gold bands. Its vibrant gemstone tone provides a focal point against neutral modern tailoring or evening wear.

Clean gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush around the claws and under-gallery. Avoid harsh chemical cleansers or ultrasonic baths to preserve the structural integrity of the antique setting.
