Mrs Brooks was a celebrated 18th century beauty and also the wife of the engraver John Brooks. This fine work is on elf a number of variants of this sitter in painted and engraved form.

Titled � Mrs Brooks C.Spooner Fecit - Pronter by Jn Bowles at the Black Horse in Cornhill�

This fine and richly coloured impression c.1750 is housed in its original hand carved and gilded pear wood frame, and is in excellent condition.
