Irish Georgian silver refers to silver items crafted in Ireland during the reigns of Kings George I through IV, characterised by distinct Dublin hallmarks, refined classical proportions, and decorative techniques such as bright-cut engraving and fluted shell bowls.

These ladles were forged from sterling silver, featuring hand-hammered handles, bright-cut edge decoration, and die-stamped or cast shell-shaped bowls designed for serving liquids.

Authentic Dublin silver features specific hallmark stamps, including the Hibernia mark, the crowned harp mark, a makers mark, and a date letter corresponding to the exact year of manufacture.

Antique silver ladles can be displayed flat on a dining sideboard, arranged inside glass cabinets alongside period glassware, or used as functional serving pieces during formal dining.

Clean silver with soft cotton cloths and specialized, non-abrasive silver polish, avoiding dishwashers or harsh chemical cleansers that can degrade hand-engraved details and natural oxidisation patina.
