Aramis Antiques has dated this Edwardian Silver Apostle Figure to the 1900s.
Emerging from his cloak is an animal, looking like a small pig. The front of the pedestal base is adorned with a silver camel. The pedestal base is made of black lacquered wood. This charming figure could be a journeying preacher — from my research of animals associated with saints it could be St Anthony Abbott (pig and bell) or St Aphrodisius (camel). More likely the former. In excellent condition, no damage. Weight including loaded base 7oz/220 gr. Height of silver figure above pedestal 9cm.
