The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The watch has a seven jewel stem-winding movement, Martyn Square grade, which is working nicely.
The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 1,046,169 which dates it back to 1878. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 55mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is nickel and it has the Aaron Dennison case maker’s marks inside the hinged case back. Dennisons supplied Waltham UK with most of their cases.

The glass lens is in good condition, a couple of very minor nibbles to the edge.
The dial is in lovely condition and the large Roman numerals give it a very handsome appearance. Blued steel hands and an outer minute track.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
