Victorian Mother-of-Pearl Handled Dessert Cutlery Set by Walker & Hall
A fine English Victorian dessert service by Walker & Hall of Sheffield, dating from the late 19th, presented in its original fitted mahogany case.
The set comprises twelve dessert knives and twelve dessert forks, each fitted with solid mother-of-pearl handles mounted with silver-plated ferrules. The blades and tines are of silver-plated steel, with the knives bearing the maker’s mark W.H & Co, confirming manufacture by Walker & Hall.
The handles display the natural iridescence and depth characteristic of genuine mother-of-pearl, with subtle variation from piece to piece, and are neatly fluted in the classical taste. The set is housed in its original mahogany presentation box, lined in blue velvet and complete with the original working lock and key.
