Description

This beautiful antique Arts and Crafts bracelet is formed of five tumbled pieces of natural turquoise connected with a chain of solid nine-carat gold links. Secures with a nice sturdy oversized springring clasp.

The English Arts & Crafts movement (c. 1880-1910) championed hand made pieces with an emphasis on craftsmanship and the aesthetics of design to create beauty rather than intrinsically valuable materials such as diamonds. Natural baroque pearls, silver and uncut stones were considered preferable to precious gemstones and peacock colours and motifs were especially popular.

SIZE: 9 inches (23cm), a fairly long length. The turquoise nuggets are each unique but approximately 6-7mm.

MATERIALS: Nine-carat (375) gold, turquoise.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: Stamped 9C.

CONDITION: Very good antique condition.

ERA: Victorian (c.1837-1901).
