This is a fine quality French Vernis Martin bombe cabinet dating from around 1900, beautifully decorated throughout with hand-painted panels and gilt bronze ormolu mounts.
 
The cabinet has a classic bombe shape with elegant curves, a shaped marble top, and finely cast gilt bronze detailing including mask mounts and foliate scrollwork. The painted panels depict classical figures in landscaped scenes and are executed in the traditional Vernis Martin manner.
 
A highly decorative cabinet of strong presence and excellent overall appearance.
