This beautiful and rare pair of Italian paperweights is from the tiny island of Murano, which is renowned for its highly skilled glassworks.
This rarely available pair of unusual paperweights will display in a very pleasing way on a shelf or table top, perhaps with some unique item in the centre.
The handmade heavy glass paperweights have slight differences in their size and manufacture, which is to be expected with hand blown pieces from this period.
Both of the paperweights are produced in clear glass with a base of multiple exploded air bubbles, each with seven flower heads and stems rising above the bubbles in pink, white, green and blue glass. Each handmade flower is slightly different and is finished at its centre with a stamen air bubble.
This pleasing pair of paperweights has the same dimensions in width and depth. One is slightly taller at 8cm, and the other is 7.5cm.
Both paperweights are in excellent original condition.
