Fabulous Chinese Carved Dragon Gong 19th Century

Description

This is a fine 19th century Chinese wall mounting gong with the most wonderful large and impressive dragon hand carved in solid mahogany.

The dragon holds the solid brass gong and brass and leather beater from its open mouth and sharp teeth.

The beautiful form of the carving has great style and the mahogany has a lovely antique colour and patina.

The gong is in super condition and has great character.

It is a good imposing size in a room measuring 60 cms high by 26 cms deep with the circular gong being 30 cms in diameter.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
